Well, I think the statement is pretty clear. If you think you are not going to use the pass for atleast $8 worth of trips, don't use it ! Since the MRT anyway is pretty cheap and a trip anyway costs a max of $1.75.

i know about the pass....moreover,i also use that card before...several times.if u notice,i've already put the pic of my Tousrist Pass in my blog.
but ur sentence about the smart card make me curious
'If you feel SD$8 is too much for a day (since a trip anywhere in MRT will cost max of SD$1.75), get the SMART card'
so...u're talking about the us card price equivalent to us dollar or what?care to elaborate some more?

@achtung: The cost of the Singapore Tourist Pass is S$8 / day. It is not S$1.75 / day. And it is valid on the MRT as well as the transit link buses.

Thank you for creating such a well thought out set of tips. With regard to calling from Singapore, your ideas sounds great. If there is not a public phone nearby, however, that can prove to be a bit problematic. As such, I would like to offer that traveling with a calling card is a good idea--get one before yo travel.
